The Food Service Worker role is integral to preparing, presenting, and serving food within the hospital setting, ensuring that all meals meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and customer service. Team members in this position will be actively involved in various daily food preparation tasks such as washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding fruits and vegetables, as well as weighing and measuring ingredients to ensure accuracy and consistency. The role also involves transporting food and supplies safely across different workstations and maintaining the cleanliness and sanitization of kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils to uphold strict health standards.
Food Service Workers will utilize approved recipes and production standards to deliver meals that meet designated serving temperatures and portion controls. Job Duties
- Perform prep work such as washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding fruits and vegetables
- weigh and measure designated ingredients
- carry pans, kettles, and trays of food to and from work stations, stove, and refrigerator in accordance with safety standards
- store food in designated areas following wrapping, dating, food safety and rotation procedures
- clean work areas, equipment, and utensils
- distribute supplies, utensils, and portable equipment
- utilize approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures, and standard portion control
- serve customers in a friendly, efficient manner following outlined steps of service
- resolve customer concerns and relay relevant information to supervisor
- ensure compliance with company service standards and inventory and cash control procedures
- assure compliance with all sanitation and safety requirements
- perform other duties as assigned
