The Food Service Supervisor role at Trinity Services Group offers an exciting opportunity to work in a correctional setting, specifically a jail or correctional facility. This position is full-time and offers a competitive hourly wage of $17.50. The role is highly hands-on and involves supervising inmate labor as well as coordinating team members that assist with food service operations. It requires the individual to work both shifts—12pm to 8:30pm and 2pm to 10:30pm—to ensure smooth kitchen operations. A key responsibility is ensuring food is prepared and served efficiently and according to strict standards related to menu plans, food safety, and sanitation. The supervisor will utilize various food preparation tools and equipment, supervise food prep and serving activities, and train other food service workers and inmates as needed.

Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience
  • Ability to work shifts from 12pm to 8:30pm and 2pm to 10:30pm
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift, bend, push, kneel, and walk during the shift
  • Willingness to work in a jail or correctional facility environment involving close contact with inmates

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience
  • Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience preferred
  • Knowledge of food handling regulations

Job Duties

  • Supervise inmate labor and or team members in the kitchen during food prep and food service shifts
  • Prepare, assist, or instruct inmate labor and or team members in the preparation of quality foods according to planned menu, recipes, and work instructions
  • Ensure all food is stored properly and in a sanitary manner
  • Serve food during planned meal schedules according to department policies and procedures
  • Utilize kitchen utensils and equipment to cook, prepare, and serve food according to recipes and nutritional needs
  • Follow all food safety regulations related to sanitation, food handling, and storage
  • Train other food service workers
  • Maintain a clean work area including cleaning refrigerators, cooking equipment, and serving equipment
  • Follow facility uniform policy
  • Keep kitchen floors clean from excess food and trash
  • Ensure the kitchen environment is ready for food prep and serving including sweeping, mopping, and dishwashing
  • Review proper portions and utensils for service
  • Promote a healthy and safe work environment
  • Meet physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
