The Food Service Supervisor role at Trinity Services Group is a critical leadership position within a correctional facility's food service operation. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Ability to supervise inmate labor and team members
  • Ability to operate kitchen utensils and equipment safely
  • Ability to follow food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Ability to maintain cleanliness of food preparation areas
  • Physical ability to perform lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Dependable and flexible

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience
  • Ability to understand and enforce food safety regulations
  • Experience in supervising teams or inmate labor preferred
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to changes quickly

  • Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Supervise inmate labor and team members during food preparation and service shifts in the kitchen
  • Prepare, assist, or instruct inmate labor and team members in preparing quality foods according to menu, recipes, and instructions
  • Ensure proper and sanitary food storage practices
  • Serve food following planned meal schedules and departmental policies
  • Utilize kitchen utensils and equipment appropriately to cook, prepare, and serve food
  • Follow all food safety regulations related to sanitation, handling, and storage
  • Train other food service workers
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas, including cleaning refrigerators, freezers, cooking and serving equipment
  • Enforce facility uniform policies
  • Manage garbage collection and ensure kitchen floors are clean of food and trash
  • Keep kitchen clean and ready for food preparation and serving by sweeping, mopping, and dishwashing
  • Review proper portions and utensils for service
  • Promote a healthy and safe work environment for employees and inmates
  • Perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods
  • Be on feet for most of the scheduled shift
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
