The Food Service Worker role at Aramark is an essential position that provides critical support in food and meal preparation while maintaining strict adherence to quality, sanitation, and kitchen safety standards. Working closely with the manager, the individual in this role assumes responsibility for assisting with meal preparation, maintaining accurate cash receipts and meal records, and supporting daily report completion to ensure smooth and efficient operations. This position demands a high level of attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high food production standards that comply with safety and hygiene regulations. The role involves preparing quality food and baked goods according to planned menus, ensuring proper storage and handling of food items, serving food according to established schedules and policies, and performing essential cleaning and maintenance tasks within the kitchen environment.
In addition to these duties, the Food Service Worker must be adept in the use and care of kitchen equipment, including knives, and be capable of adding garnishments to dishes to enhance customer satisfaction and presentation. Physical stamina and the ability to perform tasks requiring lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking or standing are necessary due to the physical demands of the job. Job Duties
- Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
- Prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
- Understand what is inclusive of a meal
- Ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
- Serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
- Use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
- Timely preparation of a variety of food items and beverages
- Add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
- Coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
- Adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
- Adhere to the uniform policy
- Connect with the Manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
- Supervise the food temperature requirements
- Maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
- Scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
- Follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness to ensure a balanced and safe environment including sweeping, mopping, ware washing
- Maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
- Perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
- Meet physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, extended walking and standing
- Wear uniforms and/or use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
