Erdenheim Elementary Food Services is currently looking to hire a part-time Food Service Worker. This role is ideal for candidates who have a passion for working with children and can maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced school environment. The position offers an hourly wage of $18.52 and requires candidates to commit to four hours per day during the 10-month school calendar, with hours potentially adjusting based on district needs. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in food service industry is preferred
  • Must be able to work part-time hours, approximately 4 hours per day
  • Ability to follow safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Must enjoy working with children
  • Ability to perform physical tasks associated with food preparation and service
  • Background clearances required including State Police Clearance, Child Abuse Clearance, FBI Fingerprints, and School Health Record

Job Duties

  • Prepare and serve breakfast and lunch items following established menus, portion control, and presentation standards
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and in compliance with district and state sanitation guidelines
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of food preparation, serving, and dining areas
  • Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment using proper sanitizing procedures
  • Stock and rotate supplies and food items to ensure freshness and prevent waste
  • Assist with the setup and breakdown of serving lines and salad bars
  • Follow all safety and food handling procedures in compliance with the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) and USDA Child Nutrition Program standards
  • Record food quantities, temperatures, and other required production information accurately
  • Provide courteous and efficient service to students, staff, and visitors
