The Food Service Worker at Aramark plays a critical role in supporting the smooth operation of food service areas by assisting managers with meal preparation, maintaining cash receipts, and completing daily reports. This role is essential in upholding the high standards of quality, sanitation, and safety required in food production. The Food Service Worker is responsible for preparing quality food and baked goods in accordance with planned menus, ensuring that meals meet customer expectations in both taste and presentation. This role involves thorough knowledge of meal components, careful food storage, and adherence to food safety regulations to prevent contamination and maintain freshness. Serving food according to scheduled meal times and departmental policies is a key component of the job.
The worker also handles the use and care of kitchen equipment, including knives, and is involved in the timely preparation of a variety of food items and beverages. Garnishing food to enhance visual appeal and customer satisfaction is an important task. The role includes periodic deep cleaning of kitchen appliances such as refrigerators, freezers, and steam tables, as well as maintaining cleanliness and organization in the work and storage areas.
Daily communication with the Manager ensures that the menu is accurately prepared and requirements are met. Physical demands of the job may include lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking or standing. The role may require wearing uniforms and personal protective equipment to comply with safety standards.

Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience in food service preferred
- ability to follow safety and sanitation guidelines
- physical capability to lift and stand for extended periods
- strong communication skills
- willingness to wear uniforms and personal protective equipment
- flexible work schedule
- basic math skills

Job Duties
- prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
- prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
- understand what is inclusive of a meal
- ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
- serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
- use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
- timely preparation of a variety of food items and beverages
- add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
- coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
- adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
- adhere to the uniform policy
- connect with the manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
- supervise the food temperature requirements
- maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
- scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
- follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness to ensure a balanced and safe environment including sweeping, mopping, and ware washing
- maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
- perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
- comply with physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing
- wear required uniforms and/or personal protective equipment
