Job Description

The Joint Base Charleston Wrenwoods Golf Course is operated under the Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) system, providing recreational and dining services to military personnel, their families, and the surrounding community. Located at Charleston AFB, SC, this facility is part of the broader Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) activities of the Air Force and Space Force. The golf course amenities are designed to enhance the quality of life for service members by offering leisure opportunities and exceptional food service in a convenient, friendly setting. Employment at this location is permanent and falls under the NA 3 pay scale with a fixed hourly rate of $19.08. The role features an intermittent work schedule that offers flexibility up to 40 hours per week, based on the facility's operational needs. This position is not eligible for relocation expenses and does not offer telework or remote work options. Candidates must be U.S. Citizens, Nationals, or individuals who owe allegiance to the United States and prove eligibility based on veteran status, military spouse preference, or other priority considerations.

The Food Service Worker role at the Wrenwoods Golf Course is an engaging position that requires a candidate committed to providing excellent food preparation and customer service under the guidance of supervisors. The worker's primary responsibility is to prepare and deliver various food items, including the processing of vegetables, meat, chicken, fruits, salads, and other menu items that cater to a range of dining scenarios such as formal dining-ins, buffets, and receptions. This includes securing fresh vegetables, washing, peeling, slicing, and preparing them for cooking, as well as portioning and seasoning meats according to recipe and portion standards. The position demands adherence to sanitation and safety standards in all food handling and kitchen cleaning tasks. Physical demands are significant, involving lifting or moving objects up to 40 pounds and spending extended periods standing, walking, and performing activities that require stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and bending. Candidates must be able to complete a pre-employment physical and comply with mandatory food handler certifications within specified timeframes. The position is a position of trust, requiring integrity and compliance with safety, fire, and sanitation policies. To be successful, the worker needs to exhibit reliability, neatness, adaptability to pressure, and a cooperative attitude within a team-oriented environment.
