The Food Service Worker role at Aramark is an essential position focused on maintaining high standards in food production, sanitation, and kitchen safety practices. Reporting to the manager, the individual in this role will assist with food and meal preparation, maintain cash receipts and meal records, and support the completion of daily operational reports. This position demands the preparation of quality food and baked goods aligned with planned menus, while closely following food safety standards and departmental policies.

Additionally, the Food Service Worker is responsible for proper storage of food items, maintaining clean and sanitary kitchen environments, servicing food according to schedules, and using kitchen equipment correctly and safely. The role involves significant physical activity such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking or standing. Workers may also be required to wear uniforms and utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary.

Beyond food preparation and service duties, the position entails coordinating major cleaning activities of refrigeration units and kitchen appliances, ensuring all food safety and sanitation regulations are meticulously followed. The role involves scrubbing and polishing counters, steam tables, and other equipment to maintain a balanced and safe working environment. Close communication with management is also a key part of the job to ensure meal preparation aligns accurately with daily menu plans.

Job Duties

  • Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
  • Prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
  • Understand what is inclusive of a meal
  • Ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
  • Serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
  • Use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
  • Timely preparation of a variety of food items, beverages, and add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
  • Coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
  • Adhere to the uniform policy
  • Connect with the Manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
  • Supervise the food temperature requirements
  • Maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
  • Scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
  • Follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness to ensure a balanced and safe environment
  • Maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
  • Perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
  • Meet physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing
  • Use uniforms and/or Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required
