The Food Service Worker role at Aramark is an essential position responsible for assisting the manager with food and meal preparation while maintaining cash receipts and accurate meal records. This role requires a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards in food production, sanitation, and kitchen safety practices. The position involves preparing quality food and baked goods according to planned menus, ensuring that food storage complies with sanitary standards and food safety regulations. Food Service Workers serve food according to meal schedules and departmental policies, use and care for kitchen equipment with a special emphasis on safety when handling knives, and assist with timely preparation of various food items and beverages.

Beyond food preparation, this role entails coordinating and assisting in thorough cleaning of kitchen equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, cooking, and serving equipment, thus upholding a clean and organized kitchen environment. The Food Service Worker also adheres to uniform policies and ensures that food temperatures meet regulatory requirements. Regular communication with the manager is necessary to understand and effectively prepare the daily menu. Additionally, the worker adds garnishments for appeal and customer satisfaction and manages waste and kitchen floor cleanliness in accordance with health guidelines.

Physical demands of this role may include lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, extended periods of walking and standing, and wearing uniforms or personal protective equipment as required.   • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in food service preferred
  • food service certificate if required
  • ability to read, write, and follow instructions

  • adherence to uniform and personal protective equipment policies
  • strong communication skills

Job Duties

  • Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
  • prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
  • understand what is inclusive of a meal
  • ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
  • serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
  • use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
  • timely preparation of a variety of food items, beverages, and garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
  • coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
  • adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
  • adhere to the uniform policy
  • connect with the manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
  • supervise the food temperature requirements
  • maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
  • scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
  • follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, including sweeping, mopping, and ware washing
  • maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
  • perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
  • comply with physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, walking, standing and use of personal protective equipment
