CAPSLO is currently seeking a dedicated Food Service Worker to join their team. This vital role supports the organization’s food service program, which plays an essential part in assisting individuals and families who rely on nutritious meals. As a Food Service Worker, your responsibilities will be diverse and integral, including food preparation tasks such as washing, peeling, and cutting fruits and vegetables, mixing and stirring prepared foods, and setting up meal service for classes. You will also be tasked with maintaining cleanliness and sanitation by cleaning equipment, appliances, dishes, and work surfaces, as well as sweeping and mopping the food service area. Post-meal service, you are responsible for cleaning and ensuring a hygienic environment.

Moreover, this position involves duties outside of food preparation and cleaning tasks. You will handle the loading and unloading of food transportation containers and deliver meals from a central kitchen using a CAPSLO vehicle. The role requires adherence to safety protocols to ensure not only your own safety but also the safety of coworkers, clients, and children served by the organization.

Candidates who have previous experience in food service, particularly those who have experience making deliveries and driving a van, will find this role suited to their skills. A valid California Driver’s License, automobile insurance, and a clean driving record are required due to the delivery aspect of the job.
