The Food Service Worker role at RWJ Rahway is a vital position within the Dietary-Management Department, working part-time during day shifts with a compensation rate of $17.64 per hour. This position plays a fundamental part in the facility’s commitment to patient care by ensuring the preparation and delivery of nutritious, high-quality food to patients, visitors, and staff in alignment with HACCP food safety standards. The Food Service Worker will operate a variety of equipment safely and efficiently, including reach-in refrigerators, juice machines, assembly lines, and cooking appliances. This role requires adherence to proper food portioning, temperature regulations, and inventory management (including first in, first out storage procedures) to maintain the quality and safety of all meal items.

In addition to preparing and serving food, the Food Service Worker must accurately identify patients using hospital wristbands for tray delivery and collection, ensuring a seamless and hygienic food service experience.
