The Food Service Supervisor role at Trinity Services Group is a vital leadership position focused on overseeing inmate labor and team members supporting food service operations within correctional facilities. This supervisory role requires a hands-on approach to ensure quality food preparation, adherence to safety and sanitation standards, and seamless meal service during scheduled shifts. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for food service, a solid understanding of food handling regulations, and the ability to thrive both independently and as part of a team. The role involves multi-tasking, adapting quickly to changing needs, and maintaining a dependable and flexible attitude to meet the demands of a correctional kitchen environment.
Responsibilities include supervising inmate workers and team members during food prep and serving shifts, ensuring proper food storage and sanitary conditions, and using kitchen equipment to prepare and serve meals according to standardized recipes and nutritional requirements. The Food Service Supervisor is also responsible for training other food service workers, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and following facility policies such as uniform standards. This role requires physical stamina as it involves lifting, bending, walking, and standing for extended periods. An open availability schedule is necessary, with shifts generally running from 3:30 am to 11:30 am or 11 am to 7 pm.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Ability to stand and be on feet for extended periods
- Ability to supervise team members
- Knowledge of food safety regulations
- Ability to work flexible hours including early morning and evening shifts
- Physical ability to lift, bend, push, kneel, and walk during shift
- Willingness to maintain a clean work environment
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience preferred
- Passionate about food and service
- Solid understanding of food handling regulations
- Ability to work as a team member as well as independently
- Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes quickly

Job Duties
- Supervise inmate labor and or team members in the kitchen during food prep and food service shifts in the kitchen
- Prepare, assist, or instruct inmate labor and or team members in the preparation of quality foods according to the planned menu, recipes, and work instructions in a timely manner
- Ensure that all food is stored properly and in sanitary manner
- Serve food during planned meal schedules and according to department policies and procedures
- Utilize kitchen utensils and equipment to cook, prepare and serve food according to recipes
- Use proper utensils to serve menued portions and as appropriate to meet clients' nutritional needs
- Follow all food safety regulations pertaining to sanitation, food handling and storage
- Train other food service workers
- Maintain a clean work area and environment that includes cleaning of refrigerators and or freezers, cooking equipment and serving equipment
- Follow facility uniform policy
- Keep up with garbage collection and keep kitchen floors clean from excess food and trash
- Ensure kitchen is kept clean and that the environment is ready for food prep and serving including sweeping, mopping and dishwashing
- Proper portions and utensils are being reviewed for service
- Promote a healthy and safe work environment for other employees and inmates
- Be able to stand and be on your feet for much of the scheduled shift
- Perform other related duties as assigned
