The Food Service Worker role at Aramark is integral to maintaining high standards of food quality, sanitation, and kitchen safety. This position involves assisting the manager with food and meal preparation as well as handling cash receipts and meal records accurately. Daily responsibilities include producing a variety of quality food items in accordance with planned menus and adhering strictly to food safety regulations. The worker will also assist in major cleaning tasks, maintain organized work and storage areas, and connect consistently with the manager to ensure that meals are prepared accurately to meet schedule and quality standards.

In addition to food preparation, the Food Service Worker supports the operational side by preparing reports verifying daily transactions, supervising food temperature requirements, and ensuring all kitchen equipment is properly used and cared for, especially tools like knives. This position requires adherence to uniform policies and effective coordination with team members to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment. The role may involve physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, extended periods of walking or standing, and may require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in food service preferred
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Basic math and record-keeping skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
  • Physical ability to perform tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
  • Compliance with food safety and sanitation standards

Job Qualifications

  • Food Service Certificate as needed
  • Sufficient education or training to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to work quickly and concisely under pressure

Job Duties

  • Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
  • Prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
  • Understand what is inclusive of a meal
  • Ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
  • Serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
  • Use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
  • Timely preparation of a variety of food items, beverages, and add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
  • Coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
  • Adhere to the uniform policy
  • Connect with the Manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
  • Supervise the food temperature requirements
  • Maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
  • Scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
  • Follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, to ensure a balanced and safe environment
  • Maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
  • Perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
  • This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing
  • This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
