Serving as crucial community hubs, these centers provide care and recreational services for children and youth affiliated with the base, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for families stationed at Travis AFB. The centers maintain a strong commitment to high standards of service, safety, and community engagement, playing a vital role in the quality of life theme for military members and their families.

Workers will also operate dishwashers, engage in preventive maintenance and cleaning duties, including heavy-duty cleaning tasks in kitchen areas such as ceilings, exhaust hoods, floors, walls, and refrigeration units.

In addition to food service, the role involves receiving food deliveries, handling waste disposal, and making fresh fruit or green salads and sandwiches. Importantly, employees in this role have access to various base facilities, including the Base Exchange, Gym, Outdoor Recreation, Library, Marina, Golf Course, Bowling Center, and the Arts & Crafts Center, which contributes to a supportive work environment.

Applicants for this role must pass background checks in compliance with Air Force and Department of Defense policy, including a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation, and maintain updated immunizations and physical health standards. This position is open to the public, including U.S. citizens, nationals, and those who owe allegiance to the United States. The selection process values experience with the ability to follow instructions, use hand tools for cleaning, operate simple machines, and practice sound judgment in work sequencing. Knowledge of sanitation standards related to food handling and kitchen cleanliness is essential.

This job offers not just an opportunity for employment within a respected federal and military institution but a chance to contribute positively to the welfare of military families and support those who serve the country.
