Job Description
Eskaton is a renowned nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of older adults through compassionate care, support, and community building. For over 55 years, Eskaton has been a pillar in Northern California, operating a network of 23 communities that provide a safe and nurturing environment for aging individuals and those who care for them. Committed to helping people live well longer, Eskaton emphasizes aging as a vibrant, supported, and celebrated journey rather than a challenge to face alone. With this mission in mind, Eskaton fosters a workplace culture centered on inclusivity, respect, and personal growth, ensuring every employee feels valued and empowered.
The Food Service Worker position at Eskaton plays a crucial role in supporting the culinary operations that contribute to the well-being of residents. This role primarily focuses on maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen by washing dishes, utensils, pots, and pans while keeping the kitchen area orderly. Additionally, the Food Service Worker assists in putting away deliveries, helps culinarians in food preparation and cooking, and sometimes aids in dining room service. This position embodies Eskaton's core values by promoting a welcoming atmosphere, striving for excellence, taking initiative, and fostering continuous learning and growth.
As part of Eskaton's dedicated team, the Food Service Worker’s responsibilities also include setting up and breaking down meals, adhering to cleaning schedules, reporting equipment issues, and ensuring the dining experience meets health and dietary requirements. This role demands attention to detail, a commitment to quality customer service, and the ability to work collaboratively with culinary leadership. Employees in this position receive competitive pay ranging from $18.15 to $22.11 per hour, influenced by factors such as experience, education, skills, and market considerations.
Eskaton prioritizes employee well-being by offering comprehensive benefits, including a 401K matching program, physical and mental health support, and fostering a workplace culture that celebrates diversity and inclusion. The organization is committed to compliance with all corporate policies and standards, ensuring a safe and professional work environment for all staff and residents.
Joining Eskaton as a Food Service Worker is more than taking a job; it is stepping into a meaningful career where every contribution helps improve the lives of older adults and strengthens community ties. Through dedicated service and commitment to Eskaton's values, employees have the opportunity to make a tangible difference every day while enjoying job security, professional development prospects, and a supportive work environment.
