As a Food Service Worker at Aramark, you will play an essential role in supporting the daily food preparation and service activities that contribute to providing quality meals in a safe and sanitary environment. This hourly position offers a competitive wage between $17.00 and $19.00, reflecting Aramark's commitment to rewarding the hard work and dedication of its team members. In this role, you will assist the manager in preparing meals and baked goods according to planned menus, maintaining cash receipts, and documenting meal records accurately. You will also aid in daily reporting, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to company policies.

Your responsibilities will include ensuring high standards of quality in food production, kitchen safety, and sanitation practices, promoting a safe and hygienic workplace. This includes proper storage of food, use and care of kitchen equipment including knives, and cleaning and sanitizing cooking and serving equipment such as steam tables. Attention to detail is crucial, from garnishing dishes for visual appeal to supervising food temperature requirements to ensure food safety.

The role demands physical stamina, including light lifting, bending, pushing, and extended periods of walking and standing, often requiring the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). You will work closely with the manager daily to understand menu requirements and serve food in accordance with meal schedules and department procedures. Additionally, you will maintain a clean and organized work and storage environment, contributing to overall kitchen efficiency.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • prior experience in food service or related field preferred
  • ability to stand for extended periods
  • physical ability to lift, bend, push, and pull as required
  • ability to follow food safety and sanitation regulations
  • willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • capacity to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors

  • sufficient education or training to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions

Job Duties

  • Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
  • prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
  • understand what is inclusive of a meal
  • ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
  • serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
  • use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
  • timely preparation of a variety of food items, beverages, and garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
  • coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
  • adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
  • adhere to the uniform policy
  • connect with the manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
  • supervise the food temperature requirements
  • maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
  • scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
  • follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness to ensure a balanced and safe environment including sweeping, moping, and ware washing
  • maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
  • perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
  • comply with physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking and standing
  • use uniforms and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required
