The Food Service Worker position at Aramark plays an essential role in supporting the smooth and efficient operation of food services within various settings, including corporate, educational, healthcare, and leisure venues. This role involves assisting the manager with food and meal preparation, maintaining accurate cash receipts and meal records, and helping to complete daily operational reports. A strong focus is placed on maintaining high standards of quality in food production, sanitation, and kitchen safety, which ensures the provision of safe and high-quality meals for all customers.

As a Food Service Worker, you will be expected to prepare quality food and baked goods in accordance with planned menus, understand the components of meals to ensure correct assembly, and provide food service in alignment with established schedules and policies. Attention to detail is critical, as duties include the proper storage of food items in a sanitary manner, adherence to food safety regulations, and the use and care of kitchen equipment, particularly knives. The role also includes responsibilities such as garnishing dishes for enhanced customer satisfaction, assisting in deep cleaning of kitchen appliances and workspaces, and maintaining the cleanliness of both food preparation areas and garbage collection sites.

This position requires physical stamina as the duties may involve lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking or standing. Additionally, employees must comply with uniform policies and use personal protective equipment as required to ensure safety and hygiene standards are upheld.

Job Duties

  • prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
  • prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
  • understand what is inclusive of a meal
  • ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
  • serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
  • use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
  • timely preparation of a variety of food items, beverages
  • add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
  • coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
  • adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
  • adhere to the uniform policy
  • connect with the manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
  • supervise the food temperature requirements
  • maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
  • scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
  • follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, including sweeping, mopping, ware washing
  • maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
  • perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
  • handle physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking and standing
  • use personal protective equipment as required
