The Food Service Worker role at Aramark is pivotal in supporting the daily operations of the food service department with an emphasis on quality food and meal preparation, maintaining cash receipts and meal records, and assisting with various managerial tasks. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring that all food production follows the highest standards of quality, sanitation, and kitchen safety. With responsibilities that range from preparing food according to menus, ensuring proper food storage, and serving meals timely, to maintaining cleanliness and safety standards, the role requires an individual who is attentive to detail, able to work under pressure, and committed to excellence in every aspect of food service.

In this position, the Food Service Worker will collaborate closely with managers to complete daily reports and verify transactions, ensuring accurate record-keeping and compliance with company policies. Duties also include the care and use of kitchen equipment, garnishing food for customer satisfaction, supervising food temperatures, and maintaining organized and sanitary work areas. The job involves physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking and standing, along with adherence to uniform and personal protective equipment requirements.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in food service or related field preferred
  • ability to handle physical demands including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
  • compliance with food safety regulations
  • willingness to follow uniform and personal protective equipment policies

Job Qualifications

  • Food service certificate as needed
  • sufficient education or training to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions
  • ability to work quickly and concisely under pressure

Job Duties

  • Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
  • prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
  • understand what is inclusive of a meal
  • ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
  • serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
  • use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
  • timely preparation of a variety of food items, beverages, and add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
  • coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
  • adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
  • adhere to the uniform policy
  • connect with the manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
  • supervise the food temperature requirements
  • maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
  • scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
  • follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, to ensure a balanced and safe environment
  • maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
  • perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
  • this role may have physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing
  • this role may also require uniforms and/or usage of personal protective equipment (PPE)
