This role as a Food Service Worker at Baptist Health offers an important opportunity to contribute to the patient care experience. The role primarily involves preparing, assembling, and delivering patient meals in accordance with stringent quality, service, infection control, and food safety standards. Additionally, responsibilities include supporting dining services by delivering stock supplies, serving guests while maintaining excellent customer relations, replenishing food and supplies appropriately, and performing sanitation and dish room duties as assigned. The Food Service Worker also handles transactions as a cashier in the cafeteria and supports meal service for various outlets including corporate retail, catering, and the Doctors Dining Room. This role has a direct impact on creating a safe, comfortable, and satisfying environment for patients, reflecting Baptist Health’s commitment to high standards of food preparation and patient care.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent training or experience required
  • Food safety certification required within 90 days of job entry
  • Excellent customer service skills required
  • Proven excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Less than 1 year of experience

Job Duties

  • Prepare, assemble and deliver patient meals in accordance with quality, service, infection control, and food safety standards
  • Deliver stock supplies to the patient floor kitchens
  • Serve guests and maintain positive customer/guest relations
  • Appropriately replenish used foods and supplies
  • Complete sanitation duties
  • Perform dish room duties daily as assigned
  • Collect payments and handle transactions for food sales in cafeteria according to policies and procedures
  • Set up and serve meals for corporate retail, catering, Doctors Dining Room, and other dining outlets
  • Decorate buffet and reception tables as assigned
