The Food Service Worker role at Baptist Health is vital to maintaining the highest standards of patient care and comfort through quality food preparation and delivery. This position involves preparing, assembling, and delivering meals to patients in a manner that meets hospital food safety, infection control, and service protocols. Additionally, food service workers are responsible for supporting the continuous operation of patient floor kitchens by delivering supplies, replenishing used foods, and maintaining sanitary conditions throughout the food service areas. The role also includes cashier responsibilities in the cafeteria, handling payments and transactions accurately and professionally, as well as setting up and serving meals for various dining outlets such as corporate retail, catering services, and the Doctors Dining Room. Workers may be tasked with decorating buffet and reception tables, further enhancing the dining experience for patients and staff. This position supports co-workers in providing high-quality meals with efficiency and attention to safety and customer satisfaction. The pay range for this role is estimated between $16.00 and $16.75 per hour, based on experience. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Food safety certification within 90 days of job entry
- Less than 1 year of related experience
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Job Duties
- Prepare, assemble and deliver patient meals in accordance with quality, service, infection control, and food safety standards
- Deliver stock supplies to the patient floor kitchens
- Serve guests, maintaining positive customer/guest relations
- Appropriately replenish used foods and supplies
- Complete sanitation duties
- Perform dish room duties as assigned, daily
- Collect payments for guest trays
- Handle transactions for food sales in the cafeteria as a cashier in accordance with established policies and procedures
- Set up and serve meals for corporate retail, catering, Doctors Dining Room, and other dining outlets
- Decorate buffet and reception tables as assigned
