The role being offered is a Food Service Worker position with an estimated pay range of $16.00 to $19.49 per hour, depending on experience. This role involves preparing, assembling, and delivering patient meals while strictly adhering to quality, service, infection control, and food safety standards. In addition to meal preparation, the Food Service Worker delivers stock supplies to patient floor kitchens, serves guests with a positive attitude, replenishes used food and supplies, and completes sanitation duties. The position also includes dishroom duties and collecting payments for guest trays, acting as cashier for food sales in the cafeteria according to established policies and procedures. Additional responsibilities involve setting up and serving meals for corporate retail, catering, doctors’ dining room, and other dining outlets, as well as decorating buffet and reception tables.

This role is critical in maintaining a multi-faceted connection to the safety, comfort, and overall satisfaction of customers. Food Service Workers are cross-trained to handle all food service responsibilities independently and support training others within their team. This position plays a vital role in ensuring high-quality food preparation and service, supporting coworkers effectively to deliver exceptional outcomes.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Food safety certification within 90 days of employment
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in food service or related field
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and sanitation

Job Duties

  • Prepare, assemble, and deliver patient meals in accordance with quality, service, infection control, and food safety standards
  • Deliver stock supplies to patient floor kitchens

  • Appropriately replenish used foods and supplies
  • Complete sanitation duties
  • Perform dish room duties as assigned daily
  • Collect payments for guest trays and handle transactions for food sales in the cafeteria
  • Set up and serve meals for corporate retail, catering, doctors dining room, and other dining outlets
  • Decorate buffet and reception tables as assigned
  • Follow all aspects of high-quality food preparation and service
