Job Description
Baptist Health is the region's largest not-for-profit healthcare organization, encompassing a vast network that includes 12 hospitals, over 29,000 employees, 4,500 physicians, and approximately 200 outpatient centers, urgent care facilities, and physician practices across Miami-Dade, Monroe, Broward, and Palm Beach counties. Renowned for its internationally recognized centers of excellence in critical medical fields such as cancer, cardiovascular care, orthopedics and sports medicine, and neurosciences, Baptist Health stands as a pillar of advanced medical expertise and compassionate patient care. Supported by philanthropy and propelled by a faith-based mission of medical excellence, Baptist Health has proven its commitment to healthcare quality and community service for more than a quarter of a century.
For 26 consecutive years, Baptist Health has proudly been named one of Fortune's 100 Best Companies to Work For. In the most recent 2025-2026 U.S. News & World Report Best Hospital Rankings, it was the most awarded healthcare system in South Florida, earning 63 high-performing honors—testament to the exceptional clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction it consistently delivers.
What distinguishes Baptist Health beyond its impressive infrastructure and clinical achievements is its people. The organization fosters a culture that encourages personal connections not only among colleagues but also with patients and their families, creating meaningful interactions that transcend the typical healthcare experience. Many team members at Baptist Health bring their personal journeys and share lived experiences with patients, driving a compassionate and empathetic approach to care. This culture, deeply rooted in purpose, inspires every employee to contribute positively, reinforcing the collective mission to provide high-quality, compassionate healthcare.
Baptist Health also commits to nurturing its workforce's growth and success at every career stage. The organization embraces a "grow our own" philosophy designed to help team members build meaningful, long-term careers through continuous opportunities for career advancement, comprehensive health and wellness support, and extensive educational resources, including tuition reimbursement. An innovative wellness program even helps employees eliminate their medical plan deductibles, reducing out-of-pocket healthcare expenses.
The role available within Baptist Health entails preparing, assembling, and delivering patient meals in alignment with stringent quality, service, infection control, and food safety standards. This role is vital to ensuring patients receive nutritious and timely meals that contribute to their comfort and recovery. Additional responsibilities include delivering stock supplies to patient floor kitchens, maintaining quality guest service interactions, replenishing used foods and supplies, completing sanitation duties, performing dish room tasks, and managing payments for guest trays and cafeteria food sales. The role also supports event catering by setting up and serving meals in various dining outlets such as the corporate retail, doctors dining room, and catering events, as well as decorating buffet and reception tables.
This position is integral to the safety, comfort, and overall satisfaction of patients and guests, requiring dedication to high-quality food preparation and service. It offers an estimated pay range of $16.00 to $18.38 per hour, depending on experience. Individuals with strong customer service skills, excellent communication, and a commitment to upholding food safety protocols will find this role rewarding and impactful within Baptist Health's esteemed healthcare environment.
