We are currently seeking a dedicated Food Service Utility for a full-time position at Episcopal Day Augusta. This role is vital in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of kitchen work areas and equipment, ensuring a safe and sanitary environment for food service operations. Working Monday through Friday with hours that may vary, this position offers a fixed pay rate of $15.00 per hour, making it an attractive opportunity for reliable candidates. Free meals, uniforms, and laundering services are provided at select locations, contributing to a supportive workplace atmosphere. The Food Service Utility plays an essential role in supporting the kitchen and food service team by performing duties such as sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning work surfaces, handling trash disposal, transferring supplies, and assisting with banquet and front-of-house setups. This position also involves compliance with all sanitation and safety standards, which is crucial to upholding the high-quality service standards that Flik and Episcopal Day Augusta are known for.

Job Requirements

  • Previous food service experience preferred
  • ability to work full time Monday through Friday with variable hours
  • able to perform physical tasks such as sweeping, mopping, lifting and standing for extended periods
  • willing to comply with company safety and sanitation standards
  • able to handle cleaning chemicals safely
  • ability to follow instructions and complete assigned tasks
  • must be able to work in a fast-paced environment

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • previous food service experience preferred
  • ability to follow safety and sanitation procedures
  • strong attention to detail
  • ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • good communication skills

Job Duties

  • Sweeps and mops floors to comply with safety and sanitation standards
  • washes worktables, walls, refrigerators, meat blocks and other food prep surfaces
  • removes trash and places it into designated containers
  • steam cleans or hoses out garbage cans
  • transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas
  • assists with banquet table and front of the house set up
  • assists with loading or unloading and delivering supplies and product
  • distributes supplies, utensils and portable equipment as needed
  • complies with outlined sanitation and safety requirements
  • performs other duties as assigned
