Job Description
CSU Monterey Bay is a well-established educational institution located at 100 Campus Center, Building 16, Seaside, CA 93955. We are currently hiring immediately for a full-time Food Service Utility position within the campus dining services. This role primarily focuses on maintaining kitchen work areas to high standards of cleanliness and safety, ensuring smooth operational functionality of food service areas. As a Food Service Utility worker, you will play a crucial part in supporting the preparation and delivery of food by keeping equipment and utensils clean and orderly, contributing significantly to the overall dining experience of students, faculty, and staff. This position is a regular full-time role requiring a Monday to Friday schedule, with variable hours and weekend shifts as needed. The role pays a competitive fixed rate of $19.00 per hour.
The responsibilities include sweeping and mopping floors to meet safety and sanitation regulations, washing food preparation surfaces such as worktables, walls, refrigerators, and meat blocks, as well as trash removal and garbage can cleaning. Additionally, you will assist with transferring supplies and equipment between storage and work areas, supporting banquet setups and front-of-house operations, and helping with loading, unloading, and delivering supplies and products. Compliance with all outlined sanitation and safety protocols is mandatory. This position requires previous dishroom experience, ensuring familiarity with kitchen sanitation standards and effective workflow practices.
