The role offers an hourly pay range starting from $22.50 to $24.50, extending up to $38.25 based on experience, education, certification, and labor market dynamics.

As a Food Service Team Leader, you will be entrusted with the responsibility to lead a team to uphold Target’s renowned guest service standards, ensuring a freshness culture permeates throughout your department. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and seek to develop skills in guest engagement, inventory management, food safety, and team leadership. Job Requirements

  • must be at least 18 years of age or older
  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • previous retail experience preferred but not required
  • ability to operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment as directed
  • ability to work flexible shifts including nights weekends and holidays
  • reliable and prompt attendance necessary
  • ability to handle merchandise up to 44 pounds
  • ability to work in refrigeration and freezer temperatures
  • ability to climb ladders if needed
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to work in varying temperature and humidity conditions
  • ability to interpret instructions reports and information
  • access all areas of the building to respond to guest or team member issues
  • ability to handle cash register operations as needed

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • deliver guest experience commitments to create an easy inspiring and friendly guest experience
  • ensure every team member understands is trained and consistently delivers on guest experience commitments and consistent operations
  • review area guest financial and team outcome metrics to identify opportunities take action to improve and align team on the right behaviors and execution
  • plan and execute daily weekly workload to deliver department and store sales goals and guest engagement
  • assign daily tasks to team members based on planned workload and guest traffic patterns
  • assess food service back of house production areas dining spaces and merchandising spaces to ensure food safety and proper inventory levels
  • follow all food safety requirements and cleaning routines including monitoring and recording temperature sensitive food items
  • validate and follow up on team members progress against department checklists and routines
  • lead team to uphold and maintain all brand standards and production specifications where applicable
  • ensure accurate in stocks by placing store initiated orders according to best practices
  • follow proper perishable inventory management procedures to ensure accurate recording of inventory
  • make production quantity decisions just in time to ensure freshness in stocks sales and profitability
  • participate in team hiring and onboarding processes
  • establish clear goals and expectations and hold team members accountable to expectations
  • demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct safety and compliance and lead your team to work in the same way
  • demonstrate inclusivity and create equitable experiences
  • model the execution of physical security processes
  • support merchandise protection strategies
  • occasionally assume store level leadership on duty responsibilities
  • support guest services such as back up cashier order pick up and drive up and maintain a compliance culture
  • perform other duties based on business needs
