Sourdough & Co. is an upscale sandwich shop located in Blackhawk, known for its premium quality food and exceptional customer service. Sourdough & Co. is currently seeking energetic and detail-oriented Shift Supervisors to take on a crucial leadership role within the restaurant. These supervisors act as the "floor captains," overseeing the team and ensuring the smooth operation of the shop during their shifts. This hands-on leadership position requires candidates to lead by example, maintaining high standards of food quality, service, and operational flow. Unlike traditional managerial roles, this position focuses exclusively on floor leadership and team workflow without involvement in back-end administrative duties such as hiring, firing, scheduling, or formal discipline. This unique structure allows Shift Supervisors to be fully eligible to participate in the employee tip pool, adding a valuable financial incentive.
As a Shift Supervisor at Sourdough & Co., the individual will be responsible for managing the dining room and beverage stations, guiding the team to balance order tickets efficiently during peak times, and maintaining the upscale ambiance of the shop. The role requires keen attention to detail to ensure every sandwich and salad leaving the kitchen meets the company's premium standards. Shift Supervisors must also demonstrate proactive teamwork by monitoring the floor consistently and providing support where necessary to prevent any area from becoming overwhelmed. Additionally, they are responsible for opening and closing duties, including managing register drawer counts, securing the facility, and ensuring the shop is clean and prepared for the next shift.
This role demands strong communication skills, a customer-first attitude, and the ability to remain calm and effective under pressure during busy lunch and dinner rushes. Ideal candidates are those who have at least 1-2 years of experience in fast-casual or upscale food service environments, with prior leadership or shift lead experience being highly preferred. The position also requires reliable availability, including weekends, and a willingness to obtain a California Food Handler Certification within 30 days of hire.

Job Requirements
- At least 1-2 years of experience in a fast-casual restaurant, deli, or upscale food service environment
- Leadership or shift lead experience is highly preferred
- Strong communication skills
