We are currently seeking energetic and detail-oriented Shift Supervisors to join our team as floor captains, ensuring the flawless operation of our Blackhawk location. This hands-on leadership role is essential to maintaining the high standards and smooth workflow that Sourdough & Co. is known for. When the owner is off-site, Shift Supervisors act as the eyes and ears of the shop, overseeing team performance and customer experience with a focus on timely service and quality control. Unlike typical supervisory roles, this position centers exclusively on floor leadership and team coordination without involving back-end administrative tasks such as hiring, firing, scheduling, or formal disciplinary actions. This focus allows Shift Supervisors to be fully eligible for participation in our employee tip pool, rewarding them directly for their contributions on the floor.

The ideal candidate will lead by example during peak lunch and dinner rushes, balancing order tickets and maintaining ticket times under 5 to 10 minutes to ensure a rapid, seamless service flow. Proactive teamwork is crucial; continuously monitoring floor activity, supporting team members at busy stations, and facilitating a cooperative environment where no one bears the brunt of a rush alone. Shift Supervisors are entrusted with maintaining the upscale standards of our dining and beverage stations, ensuring that drinks like fountain sodas, iced tea, and specialty lemonade are always well-stocked and appealing.

Quality control is a top priority: each sandwich and salad must match Sourdough & Co.'s premium appearance and taste standards before being served. Additionally, Shift Supervisors handle the opening and closing duties including managing register drawer counts, securing the facility, and ensuring the shop is perfectly prepped and clean for the next shift. This role demands someone who thrives under pressure, communicates effectively, and prioritizes a customer-first attitude.

Candidates should have at least 1 to 2 years of experience in a fast-casual, deli, or upscale food service environment, with leadership or shift lead experience preferred. A proactive mindset and strong communication skills are essential, alongside a calm demeanor during busy periods. Candidates must also possess, or be willing to obtain within 30 days of hire, a California Food Handler Certification. Reliable availability, including weekends, is required to meet the operational needs of our shop.

Job Requirements
