Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in food service or hospitality preferred
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions
  • Completion of a sanitation course required or willingness to complete within first year
  • Effective communication skills
  • Basic math proficiency
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
  • Ability to supervise and mentor staff
  • Commitment to food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

Job Qualifications

  • Must read, write, and understand verbal instructions
  • Must complete a sanitation course either before or during first year
  • Must be knowledgeable in operating an efficient cost-effective program
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic
  • Maintain emotional control under stress
  • Ability to resolve interpersonal situations
  • Strong organizational skills

Job Duties

  • Produce and maintain work schedules and prepare production packets
  • Direct daily activities
  • Maintain food production ensuring safety and quality according to policies
  • Ensure food items are stored safely and organized
  • Maintain serving schedules and ensure proper food service per menu specifications
  • Maintain department sanitation following health and safety codes
  • Maintain accurate inventory weekly
  • Prepare orders as needed
  • Supervise and evaluate employees to promote growth and teamwork
  • Maintain a safe working environment
  • Train and mentor food service staff
  • Maintain maintenance logs on equipment
  • Ensure completion of food safety and temperature logs
  • Perform preventative maintenance checklist
  • Recommend equipment replacement as needed
  • Multi-task effectively
  • Perform other duties as requested by Food Service Director or Manager
  • Fill in for absent employees when necessary
  • Maintain knowledge of daily catering events and confirm preparation and timely delivery
  • Work occasional night and weekend catered events
  • Attend food service meetings
  • Maintain communication with staff via multiple channels
  • Perform cashier duties when needed
  • Promote good public relations
