Job Requirements

- ServSafe Certification required
- ability to work evening shifts
- previous supervisory experience preferred

Job Duties
- interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson
- insures adequate amounts of food supplies are ordered and available to produce planned menus
- supervises sanitation activities to ensure a safe, clean and sanitary environment that is compliant with federal, state and local regulations
- supervises and/or checks the Food Service Associates to ensure the assembly of timely, accurate, temperature appropriate and appealing meals for patients
- supervises retail operations, including cleanliness, to ensure compliance with department policies and procedures and to ensure customer satisfaction
- supervises the Nutrition Care Associates and Food Service Associates to ensure patient satisfaction with the quality, accuracy and temperature of meals, with the courtesy and service, and with the explanation they receive of their diet
- ensures all HACCP standards for proper handling of leftover foods, holding of food products, serving food, preparation of food, and receiving of food products are being adhered to
- initiates appropriate corrective action when food temperatures, taste, or appearance do not meet standards
- ensures that all proper cash handling procedures and controls (cashier reports, audits, deposits, variance tracking, etc.) are being followed
- maintains consistent communication with other department management and supervisors to ensure consistent, effective management, patient/customer service and support for staff
- has responsibility for employee hiring, development, performance appraisals, in-service training and communication in order to ensure employee and patient safety and employee satisfaction
- participates in monthly staff meetings
- performs other duties as assigned
