Job Description

Aramark is a global leader in food service, facilities, and uniform services, proudly serving millions of guests daily across 15 countries. The company is deeply rooted in service and united by a mission to do great things for its employees, partners, communities, and the planet. Aramark believes in equal employment opportunity and fosters an inclusive workplace free from discrimination based on race, color, religion, national origin, age, sex, gender, pregnancy, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, genetic information, military status, protected veteran status, or other protected characteristics. The company is dedicated to developing its employees' talents, fueling their passions, and empowering their professional growth, making it an excellent place for individuals seeking new challenges, a sense of belonging, or career advancement.

The Food Service Supervisor role with Aramark, based at a designated base school within Academy District 20, plays a critical role in ensuring efficient food service operations throughout the district. This position is responsible for maintaining sufficient inventory within the base kitchen to support smooth daily meal service, overseeing product requisitions, managing stock levels, and working closely with the Kitchen Manager to guarantee operational efficiency. The Food Service Supervisor also supports district-wide logistics by facilitating product movement between host and satellite schools and operating district vehicles when necessary, demonstrating the hands-on and multifaceted nature of the position.

This role demands frequent interaction with school staff, kitchen leads, and drivers, and includes physical activities such as lifting, moving carts, and driving. Scheduled Monday through Friday during school calendar days, the Food Service Supervisor's hours align with delivery routes, meal services, and event requirements, providing a structured yet dynamic work environment. The position offers an hourly wage ranging from $18.00 to $21.00, reflecting Aramark's commitment to fair compensation.

The responsibilities of the Food Service Supervisor encompass a wide variety of tasks vital to maintaining the high standards of food safety, quality, and service excellence that Aramark is known for. These duties include producing and maintaining work schedules, preparing production packets, directing daily kitchen activities, and ensuring food is stored and served in compliance with company policies and health regulations. Supervising and evaluating employees to promote growth, efficiency, and teamwork is an essential aspect of the role, as is maintaining a safe, sanitary, and hazard-free working environment.

Additional responsibilities include maintaining accurate inventory weekly, preparing orders, training and mentoring food service workers, completing maintenance logs, performing preventative maintenance checks, and recommending equipment replacements as necessary. The Food Service Supervisor must be adaptable, able to multitask effectively, and willing to step in for absent team members. Other tasks include overseeing catering events, attending food service meetings, maintaining communication with staff, performing occasional cashier duties, and promoting positive public relations.

Aramark supports employees through comprehensive benefits programs that may include medical, dental, vision care, work-life resources, retirement savings plans such as 401(k), parental leave, disability coverage, and paid time off. These benefits are designed to support the health, well-being, and financial security of its workforce, with eligibility varying by location and employment status.
