The role of Food Service Supervisor at Aramark is a crucial leadership position within the Food Services Team, designed for individuals ready to step up their career and lead by example. This full-time position comes with an hourly compensation range of $20.00 to $24.00, reflecting Aramark’s dedication to fair and competitive pay. As a Food Service Supervisor, you will work alongside a manager to coordinate and lead daily operations, supervise staff, ensure food safety and quality, and maintain a clean and organized work environment. In this role, you will produce and maintain work schedules, prepare production packets including production sheets and recipes, and direct daily activities to ensure seamless operations. You will be responsible for maintaining food production that meets all safety and quality standards, ensuring proper storage of food items, and following all Aramark policies and procedures. You will also maintain serving schedules to ensure that food is served according to menu specifications, keep the department sanitary and compliant with health and safety codes, and manage inventory accurately on a weekly basis.
The Food Service Supervisor will also have supervisory and evaluative responsibilities, including counseling staff, promoting growth and efficiency, boosting employee morale, and fostering teamwork. Additional duties include training and mentoring food service workers, maintaining equipment maintenance logs, completing food safety and temperature logs with corrective actions as needed, performing preventative maintenance, recommending equipment replacement, multitasking effectively, and filling in for absent employees when required.
The position may also involve involvement in catering event coordination and occasional night or weekend work to ensure successful event execution. Effective communication with staff through various channels, participation in food service meetings, and promoting good public relations are important aspects of the role. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience in food service or supervisory role preferred
- must read, write, and understand verbal instructions
- must complete or be willing to complete a sanitation course within first year
- ability to perform basic arithmetic
- strong communication and leadership skills
- ability to maintain emotional control under stress
- ability to resolve interpersonal conflicts
- reliable and punctual
- ability to work occasional nights and weekends
- willingness to perform physically demanding tasks
