The Food Service Department at HonorHealth plays a critical role in supporting patient care by ensuring high-quality nutrition and food safety standards across its facilities. The department operates multiple patient meal programs, cafe services, and food production areas, all managed with a focus on hygiene, efficiency, and patient satisfaction.
The role of Supervisor-Food Service is a full-time position primarily based at the Deer Valley location, with varied days and shifts, generally from 5:30am to 2pm. This leadership role is pivotal in maintaining the operational excellence of Food & Nutrition Services. The Supervisor provides shift leadership overseeing kitchen operations, food production, storeroom management, and diet staff supervision during off-hours and weekends. The incumbent is responsible for leading cross-functional teams to achieve operational goals while ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations. Key responsibilities include monitoring patient meal assembly and delivery to meet room service and patient meal standards, supervising café services during evenings and off-hours, and enforcing strict cash handling protocols. Maintaining compliance with Health Department regulations related to sanitation, food handling, and storage is a critical part of the job. In addition, the Supervisor is tasked with ensuring that all customer and patient service standards are met with a high level of professionalism and care. The role requires planning and scheduling work assignments, hiring recommendations, staff training and disciplinary actions when necessary. The Supervisor also monitors food production quality, safety protocols including Infection Control, HACCP, and ensures that all temperature controls are documented properly. Budget management for expenses, labor, and revenues also falls under the Supervisor’s scope, requiring effective cost control and reporting practices. This position not only demands operational oversight but also active participation in food preparation and direct customer service, emphasizing a hands-on leadership approach. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Culinary training certificate preferred
- Manager Food Handlers Card required
- Food Handlers Card or Serve Safe Certification required upon hire
- Minimum 1 year food supervision experience
- Minimum 1 year food production experience
- Healthcare food service supervision experience preferred
