The company is dedicated to ensuring that incarcerated individuals receive nutritious, high-quality meals every day, supporting both their health and well-being. By partnering with institutions such as jails and prisons, Summit plays an essential role in maintaining the smooth and safe operation of correctional environments. With a focus on community and structure, Summit's kitchens operate under strict guidelines that promote consistency, safety, and quality. This work environment is distinct from traditional restaurant settings, highlighting the importance of food service within a unique and highly regulated sector.

This position is for a Food Service Supervisor within the Chatham County Sheriff's Complex located in Savannah, Georgia. It is a full-time, onsite role in the corrections segment under the Summit brand. The Food Service Supervisor will be entrusted with overseeing the daily production and service of meals in the facility's kitchen, ensuring that every meal meets the quality standards and contractual obligations outlined by the company. This role involves leadership responsibilities, including hands-on supervision of kitchen staff during meal preparation, cooking, and portioning. The supervisor will play a crucial part in maintaining efficient kitchen operations while also adhering to safety and cleanliness standards.

Working as a Food Service Supervisor with Summit means contributing to a unique food service mission that directly affects the lives of incarcerated individuals by providing them with nutritious meals and social interaction opportunities during mealtimes. Applicants must successfully pass a background check, as mandated by correctional facility guidelines and applicable laws. Compensation for this position is competitive, offering $20.00 per hour with a comprehensive benefits package inclusive of medical, dental, and vision insurance, along with other valuable employee support programs.

The ideal candidate will possess strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, along with proven experience supervising multiple employees. Attention to detail and an understanding of quality service are paramount in this role. Advanced qualifications such as degrees in culinary arts or related fields and Food Handler's certification are considered advantageous but not mandatory.
