Petro 49, Inc. is currently seeking a full-time Food Service Supervisor for their Petro 1 location in Juneau on Honsinger Road. This role is an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual to oversee all aspects of food preparation, planning, and quality control at a high standard of excellence. The position is year-round and offers a competitive hourly wage starting at $23, with compensation varying depending on experience. The supervisor will be responsible for managing food service staff, coordinating schedules with the Station Manager, and ensuring the food preparation area complies with safety guidelines and sanitary standards. This role is crucial for maintaining customer satisfaction and operational efficiency by ensuring fresh food inventory management and minimizing waste through proper rotation and stock control.

The Food Service Supervisor must demonstrate outstanding customer service skills, professionalism, and the ability to manage a team effectively in a fast-paced environment. The supervisor is also expected to serve as a backup when necessary, assisting with food preparation duties and other operational tasks such as ordering, restocking products, and maintaining cleanliness. Employees are required to maintain a professional appearance by wearing designated uniforms, closed-toed non-slip shoes, and appropriate clothing such as black or blue jeans or khakis that are clean and neat.

Job Requirements

  • Six months of relevant experience
  • Possession of an Alaska State Food Worker’s Card

Job Duties

  • Provides oversight and guidance with food preparation staff to ensure all food is handled in accordance with safety guidelines
  • Plans and coordinates food preparation, usage, order placement and storage to meet daily and weekly customer demands
  • Monitors use by dates and ensures inventory is rotated regularly to prevent waste
  • Coordinates schedules of food preparation staff with Station Manager
  • Provides backup to food preparation staff when necessary
  • Provides professional, courteous, and efficient customer service in person and on the phone
  • Performs general tasks such as ordering, restocking products, cleaning and maintaining the facility
