The Food Service Supervisor / Deli Lead position at Global Partners is a dynamic and integral role within the Fresh Food department. This role involves directing and supervising daily activities in the deli and food service section, managing personnel, and achieving merchandising, sales, and guest service goals. As a supervisor, this individual will oversee team members by providing coaching, scheduling, and ensuring compliance with food safety regulations. The supervisor is also responsible for completing product orders, maintaining adequate stock levels, merchandising items according to company guidelines, and safeguarding the quality and safety of food products.
This position requires the ability to work with diverse food ingredients, including meats, vegetables, fruits, spices, and other food components, preparing a varied menu that includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner entrees. The role includes direct interaction with guests by taking orders, ensuring order accuracy, providing product information, and delivering exceptional customer service with a genuine thank you. Additionally, the supervisor will handle various administrative duties such as inventory management, receiving merchandise, processing transactions, and maintaining cleanliness and safety standards within the department.

Job Requirements
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old
- high school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years prior experience in fresh food's environment preferably in managerial role
- serv-safe certification preferred
- must have reliable transportation and an active driver's license
- ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
- ability to work in walk-in coolers and freezers
- ability to stand for long periods, bend and twist below waist
- dexterity to use equipment including knives, slicers, burners, ovens, fryers and rotisseries
- flexibility to work weekend, holiday and/or evening shifts and assist other locations as needed
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- minimum 2 years prior experience in a fresh food environment preferably in a managerial role
- serv-safe certification preferred
- vocational or technical education
- strong leadership and communication skills
- ability to coach and develop team members
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- ability to manage inventory and merchandising
- experience in customer service and cash handling
Job Duties
- Direct department personnel to meet department's goals and objectives
- communicate directly with store management and department supervisors
- select, onboard, and coach all new team members
- schedule all team members
- offer product information, provide selling suggestions and active sampling
- take guest orders and ensure orders are completed on time and to guest satisfaction
- ensure department personnel follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines and policies
- order products and supplies to maintain adequate stock and merchandising standards
- oversee preparation and serving of deli and food service items
- display deli and food service items following merchandising guidelines
- follow product recipes without deviation
- rotate deli and food service items to ensure quality, safety, and product shrink control
- receive merchandise and supplies, audit invoices, and position products in storage areas
- periodically count product for inventory purposes
- complete all paperwork timely and accurately
- process cash register transactions including refunds and change
- use scale printer machine ensuring correct weights and pricing
- monitor product pricing, signage, and placement including shelf tags
- keep sales counters, food prep areas, warehouses, and storage areas clean and orderly
- ensure all personnel use proper safety equipment and procedures
- perform other duties assigned by management
- work with deli ingredients including meats, vegetables, fruits, spices, nuts, flavorings, sauces and oils
