- prior institutional food service or restaurant experience preferred

Job Duties
- Supervise inmate labor and team members in the kitchen during food preparation and service
- prepare, assist, or instruct inmate labor and team members in the preparation of food according to menu plans and recipes
- ensure proper and sanitary food storage
- serve food according to planned meal schedules and policies
- utilize kitchen utensils and equipment safely and effectively
- follow all food safety regulations related to sanitation, food handling, and storage
- train other food service workers
- maintain cleanliness of work areas and kitchen equipment
- adhere to facility uniform policy
- manage garbage collection and keep kitchen floors clean
- ensure kitchen readiness for food prep and service including sweeping, mopping, and dishwashing
- review proper portions and utensils for service
- promote a healthy and safe work environment
- perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods
- perform other related duties as assigned
