The Food Service Staff/Porter position at Audubon Community Care Center plays a vital role in maintaining the health and well-being of residents by ensuring cleanliness and sanitation within the kitchen and dining areas. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to health and safety regulations, and a warm, helpful attitude towards residents and staff. The staff member will be responsible for cleaning all kitchen surfaces, washing cookware and utensils, preparing and serving meals with proper food handling techniques, and managing supplies and deliveries. Additionally, this position involves maintaining the orderliness of storage areas and disposing of trash efficiently. A key part of the role is to greet and assist residents and visitors in a friendly and professional manner, contributing to the welcoming atmosphere of the facility. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting and standing for extended periods
- Willingness to adhere to all health and safety regulations
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Previous experience in a similar role desired
- Compassionate and friendly attitude towards residents and colleagues
Job Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service or kitchen porter role preferred
- Knowledge of proper food handling and sanitation procedures
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and organization in a high-paced environment
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Basic education or equivalent
- Willingness to follow health and safety regulations
Job Duties
- Keep all kitchen work surfaces clean and sanitized
- Sweep and mop floors
- Clean and sanitize all food service equipment and surfaces
- Wash cookware, utensils, and cutlery
- Maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen area, including tables, chairs, and serving areas
- Prepare and serve resident's meals using proper food handling techniques
- Receive and unpack deliveries
- Maintain order in storage areas
- Empty trash
- Follow all health and safety regulations
- Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Other duties as assigned
