The county operates various departments and programs to meet the needs of its diverse population, including community services, public safety, health, and human services.
Within this framework, the County is seeking a dedicated Food Service Worker to join its team. This position is primarily responsible for preparing nutritious meals for residents under the supervision of management staff, ensuring that meal preparation adheres to health department standards and meets the dietary needs of individuals under the county's care. This role is critical in maintaining food safety, hygiene, and sanitation across kitchen, dining, and storage areas. The Food Service Worker will also oversee kitchen operations, including inventory management and supervising residents assigned to kitchen duties.
The Food Service Worker is expected to operate with a high level of professionalism and attention to detail, following policies and procedures to maintain a safe, clean, and efficient kitchen environment. This includes monitoring temperatures of refrigerators and freezers, ensuring the proper storage and rotation of food supplies for freshness, and maintaining kitchen equipment such as grills, vent hoods, and ice machines. The position requires the ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as dictated by program needs.
Candidates for this role should possess strong organizational and multitasking skills, be able to work independently, and maintain effective communication with medical staff regarding residents' special dietary requirements.
