With a focus on innovation and patient safety, Intermountain Health American Fork Hospital continually seeks dedicated professionals to join their diverse team and contribute to their mission of enhancing health outcomes across the region.
This full-time Food and Guest Service role is integral to the Nutrition Services department, ensuring patient satisfaction through efficient meal tray assembly, food preparation, and excellent guest service. Offering approximately 30 hours per week with variable shifts from 6:30am to 3pm or 3pm to 8pm, including rotating holiday and weekend coverage, this position requires flexibility and a genuine interest in supporting the nutritional needs and comfort of patients. The hourly pay rate ranges from $17.68 to $22.99, depending on experience, and benefits eligibility includes medical, dental, vision coverage, and education assistance.
The role involves a variety of duties such as assembling and delivering patient meal trays using standardized processes, preparing food items like salads, sandwiches, vegetables, and fruits according to established recipes, and maintaining stock levels while adhering to nutritional service standards. Additionally, the employee will perform cleaning duties, including sanitation of surfaces, equipment like ovens and fryers, and floor care to ensure a clean and safe environment. Cash handling and customer service skills are necessary to process transactions properly and address guest inquiries effectively. This position directly impacts patient satisfaction and plays a vital part in the hospital's overall patient care experience.
Candidates in this role should expect to work standing for extended periods, frequently engage with patients and staff, and manage physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and moving equipment or supplies. The ability to tolerate temperature variations and exposure to cleaning chemicals is essential for maintaining food service safety and hygiene standards. Beyond the physical and functional demands, strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a guest-focused attitude are critical to successfully fulfilling this opportunity.
In return, Intermountain Health offers a comprehensive benefits package designed to support the mind, body, and spirit of its caregivers. The organization emphasizes a culture of wellness, ensuring employees have access to resources and programs that promote health, happiness, security, connection, and engagement. This role is ideal for individuals with prior food service or customer service experience looking to join a reputable healthcare institution dedicated to impacting lives positively while advancing their career in a supportive environment.
