The Food Service Specialist role is a pivotal position within this company, working closely with the Food Service Manager and other leadership personnel to plan, direct, and coordinate kitchen operations throughout the eastern district stores. The role involves ensuring that food production meets both quantity and quality standards, adhering to stringent food safety regulations, and maintaining proper documentation and inventory controls. The Food Service Specialist serves not only as a coordinator but also as a coach and mentor to kitchen staff, helping to build harmonious and efficient teams by providing training and support. Versatility is crucial in this role, as the specialist must handle multiple tasks, adapt quickly to operational changes, and perform occasional travel between store locations to ensure consistent service excellence. This position demands a dependable individual with a passion for food and service, a firm understanding of food handling regulations, and the ability to contribute positively both independently and as a part of a team. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in food service
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods
  • Ability to work in cold storage environments
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to travel regularly within the assigned district
  • Certification or willingness to obtain ServSafe certification
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and locations

Job Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Reside in or in close proximity to a city within the designated district is preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of food safety practices
  • May be required to obtain ServSafe certification
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record required
  • Ability to travel to all stores in district on a regular basis
  • May be occasionally required to travel to other stores
  • Must possess or be able to obtain Oklahoma ABLE license
  • Prior food service experience required
  • Prior food service leadership preferred
  • Requires frequent lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to tolerate exposure to cleaning products and gasoline fumes
  • Must be able to stand and walk for full shifts typically around 8 hours
  • Must be able to enter and work in a cooler at temperatures of 32 degrees for up to 30 minutes at a time

Job Duties

  • Work with store leadership and food service manager to ensure appropriate quantities are produced, food quality is consistently high, food safety standards are met, required documentation is completed, and orders are placed appropriately
  • Assist and work with all kitchen staff in creating a harmonious working environment
  • Assist kitchen staff in clerical and record keeping responsibilities and inventories
  • Train new employees and coach current kitchen teams to ensure they are capable to perform job responsibilities in a safe and compliant manner
  • Plan for special events through participation in meetings with assigned stores and food service manager
  • Perform other duties as assigned
