This philosophy forms the cornerstone of how SSA supports its partners and their communities, ensuring that operational intelligence and people-centric values are at the forefront of their service delivery.
The role of Sous Chef at SSA Group is a critical leadership position reporting directly to the Executive Chef. The Sous Chef will assist in menu development, pricing, and estimation of food quantities required for various functions, ensuring efficient management of inventory and product quality. Leadership duties include training, coaching, and counseling kitchen staff, while upholding stringent food safety and sanitation standards in compliance with health regulations.
The Sous Chef must also demonstrate an ability to implement new cooking techniques and incorporate sustainable practices to align with SSA’s commitment to conservation. This role supports financial management related to payroll and controllable profits, working within established budgets and guidelines. Engaging with guests and responding to their requests to guarantee satisfaction is a key aspect of the position. Additional responsibilities include maintaining a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment and adhering strictly to company policies and procedures.
SSA Group promotes an inclusive and supportive workplace culture prioritizing diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (IDEA + Belonging). The Sous Chef is expected to lead by example in these areas, helping to remove barriers and empower growth opportunities for all team members. This position requires a candidate who is adaptable, organized, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, contributing to both the success of the culinary team and the broader mission of SSA Group. The company employs in various locations including Arizona, California, Illinois, and more, with specific compliance with regional workplace laws such as paid sick leave policies.
Overall, this Sous Chef opportunity is ideal for culinary professionals who are passionate about leadership, innovation, and delivering memorable guest experiences within a dynamic and respected hospitality environment. SSA Group offers robust benefits including paid time off, medical and dental insurance, a 401(k) plan with a company match, and unique paid leave programs that cater to the needs of employees and their families.
