Job Description

MFA Petroleum Company is a subsidiary of MFA Oil Company, a well-established farmer-owned cooperative founded in 1929. MFA Petroleum operates Break Time convenience stores throughout Missouri, along with a Big O Tires franchise in Missouri, Arkansas, and Kansas. The parent company, MFA Oil, supplies fuels, lubricants, and propane to customers across Missouri, Arkansas, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Oklahoma, and Tennessee. Diversifying its energy solutions, MFA Oil also operates BluSphere Energy, specializing in solar panel installation, and APM, a wholesale fuel distributor. MFA Petroleum is committed to providing exceptional service and maintaining quality operations within its convenience store food service programs. The company emphasizes core values such as putting customers first, being tenacious, and leading by example, all of which contribute to a supportive culture that prioritizes respect, integrity, and accountability.

The role of Break Time Food Service Shift Lead is an excellent entry-level management position that supports the efficient operation of the food service programs within Break Time Convenience Stores. The shift lead is responsible for enforcing high standards in food preparation, cleanliness, and adherence to company policies throughout their assigned shift. This position requires a proactive, energetic individual who understands the importance of delivering friendly and fast customer service while maintaining operational efficiency. Shift Leads act as key team members by assisting with training employees, managing inventory, overseeing food safety procedures, and supporting loss control measures. This role requires working closely with customers by providing courteous greetings and handling any complaints swiftly and professionally. Shift Leads promote product sales through suggestive selling techniques and maintain food service areas by following strict guidelines for food preparation, temperature control, and proper storage. Additionally, shift leads assist in managing profitability and expense control while helping train and supervise staff. They communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and management to coordinate operations and report any issues or concerns accurately.

Physical stamina is necessary for this role, as it includes tasks such as lifting and positioning inventory items up to 50 pounds, standing for extended periods, and occasionally ascending and descending ladders to access inventory. The position requires flexible availability, including shifts on weekends and holidays, and mandates compliance with safety training and certification requirements such as obtaining a Food Handler's Card and SERVESAFE certification. MFA Petroleum values employees who are willing to grow professionally, offering educational expense assistance and internal advancement opportunities.

Working at MFA Petroleum means joining a company that values putting customers first, giving their best effort, and acting with integrity and empathy.
