This position focuses on educating and advising current and prospective customers on how to successfully enter or enhance their foodservice offerings. As a Foodservice Ambassador, you will promote and advocate for Core-Mark's private brand sales, marketing efforts, and various foodservice promotions. The position is based in Bakersfield, CA, covering extensive territory including Fresno, Center Coast, and the High Desert market. This hybrid role requires 3-5 days per week in the field, with 80% travel within the territory, encompassing direct customer interactions and partnerships with sales representatives. With a competitive base salary ranging from $85,000 to $100,000, plus bonus potential based on key performance indicators, additional benefits include a car allowance, mileage reimbursement, monthly cell phone stipend, and a comprehensive benefits package from day one.\n\nIn this role, you will be responsible for facilitating the implementation of all food programs, conducting in-field training, and providing consultative support to strategic accounts. You will engage in product demonstrations, menu development, inventory management, and the coordination of foodservice events both on-site and at industry trade shows. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential, as the role demands presenting product strategies to customers and internal teams, analyzing sales data, and partnering with corporate teams to optimize brand activation and growth. This position is ideal for individuals with a deep knowledge of food preparation, cooking equipment, and food safety standards, including HACCP and Serv-Safe certification. The successful candidate will be highly organized, solutions-oriented, and experienced in customer-facing sales and project management within the foodservice industry.

Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED
  • minimum of 5 years working experience in foodservice industry including food brokerage, food equipment sales, or chef background
  • minimum of 5 years customer-facing sales experience and project management
  • must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • ability to travel extensively within assigned territory
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • facilitate the implementation of all new and existing food programs including training demonstrations, menu and recipe development, processing documentation, securing equipment needs, and managing inventory
  • conduct in-field training and consultation with strategic accounts recommending foodservice growth strategies on product information, preparation methods, merchandising and display equipment, marketing, pricing, and profitability
  • maintain and expand knowledge of food service products, practices, and trends
  • build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers, customers, and internal partners
  • partner with the purchasing department to manage inventory, weekly and monthly demands for key program components
  • conduct weekly field visits with suppliers and sales team to identify opportunities and present food service programs to key customers
  • manage food and beverage cutting and demonstrations, including scheduling and preparing sample kits
  • coordinate and participate in regional and national trade shows for food-related initiatives
  • present in sales meetings to build product sell-through strategy and execute business plans to support growth objectives
  • collaborate with corporate foodservice strategy and growth team to develop and optimize proprietary brand portfolio
  • perform other related duties as assigned
