The district's schools serve a diverse student population, focusing not only on academic excellence but also on the overall well-being and growth of every child. As a community-centered educational institution, Mount Healthy City Schools emphasizes collaboration among staff, students, and families to ensure that students receive the necessary resources and support to thrive both inside and outside the classroom.
Among the district's educational facilities, Mt. Healthy Jr/Sr High School plays a significant role in delivering secondary education to students in grades junior high and senior high levels. The school upholds the district's mission by creating a positive, inclusive atmosphere where students can excel academically and socially. The school's operations extend beyond teaching, including vital services such as student meal programs, which are critical to supporting student health and well-being during the school day.
The Food Service Worker position at Mt. Healthy Jr/Sr High School is an essential role focused on contributing to the school's nutrition services by preparing and serving meals to students efficiently and safely. This is a food service position with scheduled hours from 6:30 am to 1:30 pm, ensuring that breakfast and lunch are provided at the appropriate times. The role requires operating industrial food service equipment, setting up and breaking down breakfast carts, and distributing meals directly to students in the classroom. A key responsibility involves the accurate documentation of breakfast meal usage, which supports proper tracking and compliance with nutrition standards.
In addition to breakfast service, the Food Service Worker assists with lunch preparations for both the cafeteria and satellite locations within the school. This includes tasks such as assembling cold food items and condiments, setting up serving lines, and serving or restocking food during meal times. The position also requires handling cash register operations during lunch service, accurately managing the Point of Sale (POS) system, and performing related cash handling duties. Maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen area, washing dishes, pots, and pans, as well as upholding food safety standards including HACCP temperature documentation, are vital components of this role.
Mount Healthy City Schools values candidates who demonstrate strong customer service orientation, good communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Physical capability is important as the role includes lifting up to 50 pounds repetitiously. Knowledge of safe food handling practices and kitchen sanitation ensures that meal preparation meets required health and safety standards.
