The position offered is a Food Services Supervisor role within the Los Alamitos Unified School District, located at Los Alamitos High School. This position involves working 40 hours per week for 10.5 months each year, with a competitive hourly wage ranging from $31.35 to $38.06. They must monitor warehouse distribution, oversee the purchasing, receiving, storing, and transportation of food, supplies, and equipment to ensure efficient and timely service. Leadership skills are essential as the role involves training, supervising, and evaluating performance of staff involved in food service operations. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise confidently with a broad range of stakeholders including school administrators, staff, and external suppliers. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Four years of progressively responsible experience in large-scale food service operation including one year of supervisory experience
  • Must possess valid ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certificate
  • Must have valid California Class C Driver's License
  • Evidence of adequate motor vehicle insurance
  • Personal transportation for job-related travel throughout the district

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in food services management, hotel and restaurant management, business management, nutrition, culinary, or related field preferred
  • Four years of progressively responsible experience in large-scale food service operation including at least one year of supervisory experience
  • Valid ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certificate or equivalent
  • Valid California Class C Driver's License

Job Duties

  • Provide general supervision and coordinate food services programs in assigned district areas
  • Plan, organize, and direct operations of the central kitchen and assigned schools
