One of the core programs under their umbrella is the Blue Door Kitchen, which plays a vital role in providing nutritious meals as part of their community service and outreach efforts. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion, actively supporting equal opportunity employment practices that prevent discrimination in any form throughout employment processes.
The Food Service Operations Director for the Blue Door Kitchen is a pivotal leadership position responsible for managing all facets of food service delivery and kitchen operations. This full-time, exempt role requires strategic oversight to ensure operational excellence, compliance with all health and safety regulations, and the successful execution of meal programs that serve the community efficiently and effectively. With a salary of $54,467 per year, this role offers a stable career with a nonprofit organization that values strong leadership and community impact. The Director will lead teams in a high-volume food production environment, implementing best practices for food safety, inventory management, vendor relations, and logistical coordination of food distribution. The position demands hands-on responsibility for kitchen staff training, scheduling, and mentorship to build a cohesive and motivated team.
In addition to operational management, the Food Service Operations Director will also handle administrative duties such as data entry, reporting for compliance monitoring, and record-keeping essential for audit readiness. The role involves direct participation in budgeting and financial oversight, tracking food costs, labor expenses, and ensuring adherence to financial goals through corrective actions when necessary. The Director acts as a trusted leader who coaches and develops staff, fosters positive internal and external stakeholder relationships, and ensures the highest standards of food preparation and delivery are maintained. Certified CPR and First Aid training is either preferred or must be obtained, reflecting an emphasis on child and facility safety within the workplace.
Ultimately, the Food Service Operations Director plays a crucial role in maintaining the Blue Door Kitchen as a cornerstone of the Boys & Girls Clubs' mission by delivering nutritious meals to at-risk youth and other community members in need. This role offers the opportunity for a qualified candidate to combine operational expertise, leadership capabilities, and a passion for community service within a respected nonprofit institution. Benefits include comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance; a 401(k) retirement plan; flexible spending accounts; life insurance; paid time off; and company-paid holidays, all supporting employee well-being and job satisfaction.
