The role of Food Service Manager at the OKC Senior Nutrition Program in Oklahoma City, OK involves overseeing the full spectrum of dining and culinary operations within this vital community service. The program is dedicated to preparing and delivering approximately 29,000 meals each month to Senior Community Centers, Adult Day Care Centers, and homebound participants, ensuring access to nutritious food that supports the health and independence of local seniors. Besides hot meals, the program also provides shelf-stable and frozen options to maintain reliable access to food for vulnerable populations.

This position is Monday through Friday and offers a balanced work-life environment, making it an excellent opportunity for individuals with kitchen production management experience who desire a meaningful job. The Food Service Manager will champion high standards in food handling, regulatory compliance and be instrumental in managing relationships with residents, executive leadership, and board members. Being ServSafe certified and possessing strong knowledge of HACCP principles are essential components of meeting the regulatory requirements. Furthermore, the manager is responsible for controlling financial targets, managing budgets, leading a team of hourly employees, and maintaining positive client relationships. Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED or equivalent

  • working knowledge of retail systems, automated food inventory, ordering, production and management systems

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or GED or equivalent
  • minimum 1 year management experience
  • 2-5 years of assistant manager experience preferred, seniors or hospital experience preferred
  • strong leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively with all levels of the organization
  • professional communication skills
  • passion for customer service
  • working knowledge of retail systems, automated food inventory, ordering, production and management systems as well as menu graphics programs

Job Duties

  • have oversight of day-to-day dining and culinary operations
  • interface closely and daily with residents, client executive level leadership and client board members
  • control and ensure company and client financial targets and goals are achieved
  • ensure that the highest possible standards of food handling and preparation are achieved
  • be ServSafe certified with a strong working knowledge of HACCP monitors for regulatory compliance
