Food Service Manager - Milwaukee Youth Facility

Currently, the Department of Corrections is recruiting for the role of Food Service Manager at the Milwaukee Youth Facility in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This is a full-time, permanent position that plays a critical role in the operations of the facility. The Food Service Manager will oversee a large-scale food production and distribution program within a highly complex environment. This position involves preparing meals based on standardized recipes and specialized dietary requirements, ensuring proper food preparation both for on-site and off-site feeding. The manager will also be responsible for ordering and maintaining inventories of food and non-food supplies, developing and implementing policies and procedures, and supervising both staff and youth workers.

This role requires leadership within the Food Service Department, ensuring compliance with all security guidelines and operational standards. The Food Service Manager must efficiently manage day-to-day operations to meet the nutritional and safety needs of the youth in care. They are entrusted with the overall responsibility for the food service operation, balancing quality, safety, and efficiency. Candidates should be physically able to perform the role’s demands, including periods of standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds frequently, and be available to work shifts that may extend up to 14 hours per day, including weekends and holidays.

The role offers a competitive salary starting at $30.00 per hour up to $37.17 per hour within the state pay schedule 81-04.
