Job Description
CoreCivic is a leading provider of correctional, detention, and residential reentry services to government partners. Established with a commitment to public safety and community impact, CoreCivic operates a wide range of facilities across the United States that focus on rehabilitation and support of individuals within the justice system. The organization prides itself on fostering environments where employees demonstrate dedication to service, professionalism, and the mission to better public good. Working at CoreCivic offers meaningful opportunities for individuals seeking to make a difference in communities while developing their careers with a reputable company that values integrity and accountability.
We are currently seeking a Food Service Manager for our Community Corrections division. This is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the entire Food Service Department within a residential correctional setting. The Food Service Manager will lead efforts to ensure the delivery of high-quality, nutritious meals in compliance with established standards and dietary requirements mandated by registered dietitians. The position requires a strong leader who can manage both staff and residents effectively, enforcing hygiene, safety, and food quality standards rigorously.
Employees may choose between two pay options: a wage of $20.28 per hour that includes medical benefits, paid time off (PTO), paid holidays, 401K, and other benefits, or a higher wage of $23.88 per hour without medical benefits but with PTO, paid holidays, 401K and additional compensation per hours worked. This flexibility allows employees to select the compensation package that best suits their personal and family needs.
The Food Service Manager role demands a high level of operational oversight including monitoring costs, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, and maintaining professional standards of performance among the food service team members. The ideal candidate will be adept at supervising multiple responsibilities including meal planning, staff evaluations, quality checks through food inspection and tasting, and directing meal service to meet strict portion control and temperature standards. This role directly impacts the health and wellbeing of residents and supports the broader mission of CoreCivic in community corrections.
This position offers an empowering career opportunity for those passionate about food service management combined with the desire to contribute to a safe and nurturing community environment. CoreCivic is dedicated to upholding a work culture that promotes respect, diversity, and continuous professional growth. Candidates selected will join a team-oriented workplace committed to excellence and public service.
