Job Requirements
- Must have or obtain a valid Maryland driver's license with less than 5 points
- must have or obtain Prince George's County Maryland Health Department Food Service Manager Certification, TIPS certification, and State of Maryland Fire Marshall approved crowd management certification within 90 days of hire
- ability to work variable schedule including weekends, nights, evenings, and holidays
- able to lift 40 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally
- ability to stand, walk, and work on feet for long periods
- able to work in extreme weather conditions
- bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- three years of relevant food service experience
- one year of supervisory experience
- ability to comply with university policies and safety regulations
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- three years of experience in restaurants, concessions, catering, or food service management
- one year of experience leading or supervising professional staff
- knowledge of high volume food service operations
- skill in oral and written communication
- proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace products
- ability to interpret and apply policies and regulations
- ability to multitask and demonstrate commitment to customer service
Job Duties
- Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of catering events
- supervise and lead student and professional staff
- coordinate event logistics with kitchen leadership and catering administration
- collaborate with clients to assess needs and develop customized menus and event designs
- prepare menu pricing for non-standard events
- maintain client relationships and support business development efforts
- work with sales team for event creation and VIP event walkthroughs
- coordinate external vendors and event resources
- ensure timely payment collections
- maintain compliance with university policies and health, safety, and alcoholic beverage regulations
